New to mincups? - Here is some background information. The Super Minicup car is a ½ scale stock car built just like the NASCAR's Cup cars you see on TV. They have tube chassis, adjustable suspension, coil-over shocks, disc brakes, rack and pinion steering, etc.
If you have always wanted to race but didn’t have the money, time, and pit
crew, minicups may be the answer. They offer those new to driving an entry
point while teaching all the intricacies needed to run full sized cars.
Since 1995 the American Mini Cup Racing Series (AMCS) has sanctioned minicup races around the country. Full details are available on their regularly updated website - www.amcsracing.com
The Scale Racing League (SRL) which was formed approximately 4 years ago focuses on sanctioning races for minicups without regard to their manufacturer. The SRL National Finales are held at the historic South Boston Speedway. Starting in 2003, the SRL also added a division for the Norfolk, VA based Arena Racing USA cars. The cars, engines, and rules for super minicups are generally the same nationwide so there is a level playing field for all competitors.
